    Ultimate Siren demo thread

I did this on the last board, and try to do it on every new board. Hopefully this is the last one I have to make.

Please post the Brand and Model of the siren along with the video (or audio) link. This will aid in searching.

The Federal Interceptor funny tones video is a demo of the PA20A series 2E (c. 1970s, high-pitched tones). Series 2E is the version of the Interceptor that will do the funny tones.

Remember the first Unitrols that came out in the mid 70's? Slider, knob for function, another for PA volume, light status array (amber, red, blue) went bottom to top n left side of the face panel IIRC, had some toggles and double/split toggles for other stuff. I think it was the "800" model- but not sure. Pics or video?

    Fixed. :P Too bad that...
    1. That siren was made up by sound effects guys and was never a real siren to begin with.
    2. That sound affect was speed up in the cartoons, making the siren cycle faster.
    3. Big bucks are needed for legal fees as the siren is copyrighted.

FDNY Ladder 8 gets to call dibs on the first siren off the line should anyone made one.

There is a demo video of a Unitrol 800 somewhere on YouTube. From what I can remember the tones were somewhat low-pitched and it had a fast yelp.

Here's a video I shot after we put some Grover Emergency horns on the rescue at my squad. The truck has a V-Con and an Xecutor.

Speaking as a sound FX guy, All siren tones are "sound effects" designed by a guy who got paid a rediculous amount of money. All a siren is, is an amplifier that plays "samples" or tones. But thats only if you wanna get technical.

Does anyone have a demo of the old North American push-button electronic siren.
We had these in our cars back in the 80's. It had a "riot" mode that was great.
Would love to hear it again.

    Late 1960s Federal PA15A and PA20A sirens

Well, here it is. My first YouTube video. It's kind of goofy, but that's just my nature.

In this video I am demonstrating my favourite electronic siren. Everyone has their own idea of what sounds 'best', so I thought I'd throw my own personal preference out there.
