No pic yet, until I can check some old books, but the strangest police cars I ever saw were 1985 Chevrolet Citation hatchbacks. A fleet of them were given to the Xenia, Ohio PD by GM for testing and evaluation. GM had beefed them up to test them for use as front wheel drive police cars. They had big beefy tires on sporty aluminum rims, and the interiors were huge. Not bad looking cars, actually, but they didn't hold up to the hard use and were all falling apart by 80K miles. I spent hours riding in them before I hit the academy. Looked a little funny with the old FS Visibars with wide-mouth speakers though. I will try to dig out a pic and post it.
Beware of the firefighter who "doesn't need any more training"
Aspen, Colorado Saab
Pardon the pic, took em off a desktop comp with my cell camera.
Seized by the police and used as a patrol car. Unfortunately they cant afford the service and maintainance fees.

Ford Fusion hybrid, I'm gonna guess US Park Police since that's what the rest of the cop cars near it were. It had a slim LED interior lightbar in front that looked like some Gen1 crap at first, but later on I saw it in action... yeah, not Gen1. Plenty bright. In back in addition to the LEDs that are visible in the rear shot, it had red and blue LED hideaways... no idea how they fit them into those lights, though.

Their old Vovlos
I've always thought since the NHSP started buying Chargers they're a pretty cool car... And I will tell you from experience that the paint scheme DOES blend into the roadside trees and bushes!
Promo car by AgentProvocateur (no, it's not a political movement, but a lingerie brand.... ), sponsored by BMW UK, for the Life Ball event.
After the event, the unique MINI will be auctioned worldwide on eBay. The proceeds will be donated to Life Ball, as they are every years. So far, the "Life Ball MINIs" - transformed by such famous fashion icons as Missoni, Ferré and Versace - have raised a total of € 260,000.-.

Columbus, Ohio PD had 2 Citations in the early 80's (they were cars 13 & 93) They had TS bars and the officers hated them. there was no leg room after the radio & siren installs and there were no security screens...Originally Posted by crescentstar69

I can vouch for the Aspen Patrol Vehicles...Prior to my move to the Peoples Republic of Kalifornia, I was stationed in Denver, CO with the USAF. We took our vehicles a couple of times to the company who upfitted these patrols. A lot of gear stuffed into a small package, but it worked nicely. The "leafs" on the side are reflective if I remember correctly. and they were stripping one of the Volvos to be an unmarked "Staff" vehicle with some additonal "low pro" led lighting. I don't know how they performed but the did look sharp.

Ohio Department Of Taxation Dyed Fuel Enforcement.......... Hey, don't ask me what it means! :?:
From what I was able to find on the interwebz, the state of Ohio requires motor fuel to be undyed - proving it has been taxed by the state. Some people skim the system, don't pay their taxes on the fuel and thus, there's dye in the fuel. These guys from the Ohio Department of Taxation Dyed Fuel Enforcement do random checks. If they check your gas tank and you have dyed fuel, you get a $500 fine.Originally Posted by crescentstar69
In addition to those duties (again, from what I'm able to understand), they also check convenience stores/other retailers for cigarette sale licenses, appropriate sales tax collections, etc. The great state of Ohio ain't nothin to :!: with!
From one of their newsletters:
Dyed fuel enforcement agents were conducting motor fuel inspections for the presence of dyed fuel. All were
found to have dyed fuel in their tanks and all were issued summons for using untaxed motor fuel (dyed) on the
highway.
The statewide Enforcement Delinquent Program, Operation Pay Up, has cited and/or convicted 142 vendors,
caused 2,263 returns to be filed and a total of $852,322 to be collected as of February 23, 2004.

Cool. I figured it was something like that. Saw the truck Friday night in Columbus while riding with a buddy from CPD.
Dyed fuel or red diesel as it is also called is used in farm equipment, construction equipment, generators and other off road engines. The dye means it was sold with out road taxes being paid on it and can not be used on road vehicles. Also the dyed fuel may not and in many cases isn't the low sulfur diesel used on on road engines.

Looks like a Beacon Ray, probably a Junior. Philadelphia, PA police had used the BR Jr. as dash lights.

For something more unusual:
OK, so technically it's not a police vehicle... it's still a law enforcement vehicle, a Border Guard hydrocopter.
